THE BRIDGE - About Us

For over 30 years THE BRIDGE has held to its founding mission, ‘to create a “BRIDGE” between correctional institutions and the street’. Our long standing programs have enabled countless offenders, both adult and youth, to successfully and safely reintegrate back into the community, regaining their lives and most importantly, to be no longer posing a threat to the community at large.

Institutional Programs
Our dedicated staff and volunteers cross the ‘BRIDGE’ into correctional facilities regularly, visiting the men where they live. To each, we provide unique spiritual, practical and personal support.

Re-Integration Programs
Re-Integration has always been an important aspect of THE BRIDGE. It is seen as the key to success for the offender leaving jail. Our numerous community resources ensure our ability to provide almost every type of assistance a man or youth might need to ensure his safe and successful re-entry back into community. While we advocate for the offender we also are very aware of our responsibility to the community itself. We work hard to ensure the safety of everyone. As a matter of fact, one of our goals is for “no more victims”. Our many success stories give us great hope of this goal one day becoming a reality.

Advocacy
Another important role for THE BRIDGE has always been advocacy. Advocacy is not just for our clients but is also for a just, restorative-minded community. This responsibility is becoming even more critical as society is quite understandably growing increasingly intolerant of crime and violence.
